Overview
The University of Cincinnati is a public research university located in Cincinnati, Ohio, renowned for its strong programs in engineering and the arts. The Information Technology Department at the University of Cincinnati (IT@UC) is tasked with developing and maintaining multiple websites and mobile applications across the university's range of programs. Notable projects managed by IT@UC include the websites for the University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine, the Academic Health Center, the Taft Research Center, and UC's student portal, Canopy.
The following is a selection of projects worked on while at IT@UC.
Academic Health Center
One of the projects I worked on was the migration of existing content from the Academic Health Center into IT@UC's content management system (CMS). This involved ensuring that all content aligned seamlessly with the university's updated brand guidelines. This effort is part of a broader initiative aimed at creating a cohesive and unified brand presence across all departments and organizations within the university. By meticulously integrating the content into the new CMS and adhering to the revised brand standards, we aimed to enhance clarity, consistency, and overall effectiveness in conveying our institutional identity online.
TAFT Research Center
Content management to enhance the users understanding of content and working to make the website more accessible. Creating custom CSS for various components.
College of Medicine
One of the largest projects I worked on involved updating the University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine website to align with current brand guidelines in a new CMS. It was crucial to seamlessly integrate all content with these updated standards as part of a broader initiative to unify the university's brand presence across departments and organizations. By meticulously implementing these changes, our aim was to enhance clarity, consistency, and overall effectiveness in communicating our institutional identity online. This strategic alignment not only improves user experience but also underscores our commitment to excellence in digital communication and engagement across diverse audiences.
